Events in Lake Iseo

A monumental event on the Monte Isola is in the town of Carzano, which streets are almost completely in line with the shore of the lake. Every five years in Carzano there is a feast which gives thanks for the end of an epidemic of cholera. During this feast the whole village plus the inhabitants of the village of Novale prepare thousands of paper flowers which are used to decorate the village. If you’re lucky enough to visit Monte Isola when this feast is taking place, the dedication and passion put in to making these flowers makes the experience even more overwhelming.
